A Rwandan pastor accused of leading massacres during the Rwandan genocide has arrived in the country’s capital, where he will be tried for his crimes. It will be the first genocide trial held in Rwanda. [Washington Post]

Landslides have increased 70 percent since the Three Gorges Dam reached its high water mark in 2010. The possibility of further threats including earthquakes and dangerous waves likely mean the eviction of another 100,000 more residents from the area. [New York Times]

A new map of Africa’s groundwater shows reservoir levels higher than previously thought. If extracted correctly, they could provide water for drinking and irrigation in the future. [BBC]

Sixty finance and development ministers are meeting to figure out how to meet set goals to increase global access to sanitation and clean drinking water. Aid amounts would need to double for development agencies to make significant progress in the near future. [The Guardian]
